About Your Dentist

Sarah McCourt, DMD

My Mission

Dr. McCourt's goal in dentistry is to deliver a complete person centered approach to comprehensive dental care; focusing on more than just an individual's needs. She not only believes in establishing excellent oral health, but she also considers patients' wants, desires, and goals, in order that they become central to the treatment process. Dr. McCourt strongly believes in creating a warm and relaxed atmosphere for her patients, working to ease dental fears and anxieties, and providing a pain free experience.

Dr. McCourt obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and a Minor in Chemistry at Nova Southeastern University, where she worked as a math and science tutor, and held numerous leadership positions in various pre-professional and community service groups.

Dr. McCourt continued her education at Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine, where she obtained her Doctorate in Dental Medicine, centering her knowledge and skills in comprehensive treatment planning and advanced restorative and surgical procedures.

Dr. McCourt is a firm believer in providing the highest standard of care to her patients, with the most up to date and technologically advanced treatments available. She does so through continuing education and holding membership in the Doctor Mastery Program; a program in which she will receive a Followship with the Academy of General Dentistry. She is also a member of the American Dental Association.

Dr. McCourt is Invisalign Certified, allowing her to provide excellent orthodontic treatment: improving dental esthetics, correcting malocclusions, and improving overall function.

Life and Hobbies

There is nothing Dr. McCourt enjoys more than sitting in the presence of family. At the end of the day, you have your family and your health. When she isn't practicing dentistry, Dr. McCourt enjoys spending her time at the beach, traveling with her husband, and tasting and cooking exotic cuisines.

Charlotte Haught, DMD

"Be true to your teeth, or they may be false to you."

My Mission

"I believe that education is the fundamental key and best preventative measure that can be offered in maintaining a healthy mouth. It is essential that the patient's perspectives are listened to, and ultimately, with provided dental education about his or her current oral health, a common understanding is reached in order to move forward with a comprehensive treatment plan. The dentist-patient relationship must work as a team, in that the doctor can provide quality care to bring the mouth back to a healthy state, but the patient must do his or her part at home to maintain it. When obtaining a trustworthy doctor-patient relationship, it is never simply the tooth that is considered, but the whole person."

Dr. Haught received her Bachelor of Science at the University of Central Florida with a major in Biology and a minor in Leadership Studies. Having known she wanted to be a dentist at age 14, Dr. Haught joined the Pre-Dental Student Association as a freshman at UCF, and she served as Vice President of the organization her senior year. Following completion of her undergraduate studies, Dr. Haught received her Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences at Barry University, which provided her with a strong understanding of the sciences behind medicine and skillsets she carried through with her to dental school. Dr. Haught then attended LECOM School of Dental Medicine, where her passion for leadership, research, and involvement grew. Some of her positions included membership of the American Student Dental Association, Student Government Class Representative, and Student Research Group Vice President. She also had the opportunity to present two research projects at LECOM's annual Research Day during her first and third year, placing in the top three presenters for both years.

Continuing Education & Professional Memberships

Prior to moving to Bradenton for dental school, Dr. Haught obtained her Florida Teaching Certificate, working as a high school biology teacher in Martin County. Similar to dentistry, Dr. Haught believes teaching is an extremely rewarding profession in many ways. She is currently an active member of the American Dental Association and Florida Dental Association. She is a strong advocate for supporting legislative actions that maintain patients' safety and guarantee the integrity of organized dentistry. Dr. Haught has attended district meetings, both at the student level and for practicing dentists, in order to stay involved with the latest news, innovations and future goals for the practice of dental medicine. Dentistry is a profession of lifelong learning, and Dr. Haught enjoys this learning through continuing education courses, which give her advanced knowledge and skills that she can bring back to her practice to ultimately provide better care for her patients.

Life & Hobbies

Originally from the eastern shore of Maryland, Dr. Haught enjoys traveling back home to spend quality time with her family. Outside of making her patients smile, Dr. Haught is all smiles when she hangs out with her chocolate lab, Charley. She loves spending time on the water, boating and letting Charley fulfill his obsession with swimming. If she isn't outdoors, Dr. Haught enjoys getting together with her friends, trying new restaurants, and traveling to tropical destinations.
